What must I do to be saved? A familiar statement made by many people that will never do what they need to do to be saved. Rich people, poor people, white people, black people and all categories of people are seeking every avenue possible to evade The True Way of God to be saved. Gimmicks, schemes, charms, you name it, are utilized by modern day churches to keep people from being saved and made free from their sins.
The Bible makes it crystal clear what one must do to be saved…
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive The Gift of The Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38
This is it! There is no other way for anyone to be saved. This goes for the Baptist, Catholic, Jehovah Witness, Methodist, Seven-Day Adventist, etc.. There is no exception!
Jesus Christ is the only One that is qualified to instruct us in what we must do to be saved. And when He was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to Him, and asked Him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou Me good? There is none good but One, that is, God.
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
And he answered and said unto Him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.
And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. Mark 10:17-22
There you have it from The Word of God. A man came to church, heard the Word of God, kneeled before The Lord, and asked the question: What must I do to inherit eternal life? After Jesus told him what to do, he refused because he was grieved and sad at Jesus’ commandment. This is a typical example of modern day church people that sincerely want to be saved. However, when it comes to The Commandment of repenting of sins and receiving the gift of The Holy Ghost, they become sad and grieved and leave the church. They join up with false churches and become corrupted forever; therefore, they never get saved. What a shame.
You and only you must first realize that you need to be saved. First, you must hear The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Then, become Godly sorry for all sin, repent and be baptized in The Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin and you shall receive The Baptism of The Holy Ghost.
The name of the church organization cannot save you. The preacher cannot save you. Your family and friends cannot save you.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is The Gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
After hearing The Word of God and repenting of your sins, Jesus Christ saves you from sin on the spot and you become a candidate for The Baptism of The Holy Ghost. Every born again Christian must be fed with The Word of God to keep their salvation. You must get in, attend a spirit-filled church, and be active in studying The Word, praying The Prayer of Faith, and Praising God.
For The Grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. Titus 2:11-12
You and only you must make the decision to obey The Word of God and be saved. A Holy Ghost filled minister must baptize you in water.
Jesus answered: Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:5
To be saved, you must be born again. You must allow someone to guide you to Jesus Christ as the eunuch did in Acts the eighth Chapter.
And the angel of The Lord Spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship.
Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
Then The Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth.
In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? For his life is taken from the earth.
And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? Of himself, or of some other man?
Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
And when they were come up out of the water, The Spirit of The Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. Acts 8:26-39
You must follow these steps to be saved. Hear The Word of God preached by a Holy Ghost preacher and seek to get an understanding. After understanding The Word, you must desire to obey and do as The Man of God tells you to do. That is, believe upon Jesus Christ with all thy heart and Jesus Christ will save you.
Many people will never follow these simple instructions for salvation. You must do it to be saved. There is no other way. At this moment, you can open your heart to Jesus Christ and repent of your sins. You must say it with your lips and believe it in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He saves his people from their sins.
And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His Name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by The Mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1
